Wisconsin Fall Colors

A couple weeks ago. on a whim, I decided to ride my motorcycle north from Madison to the Ski Hi Orchard.* I figured it would be close to the point where fall color would be best this year in Wisconsin. Boy, was I right. Although it was a day threatening rain, the colors on the Baraboo Bluffs around the orchard were beautiful. I suspect, in fact, that the rain threat helped with the crowds that would normally be at the orchard. Last year, it was difficult even to get the motorcycle a parking spot near the orchard and they were sold out of caramel apples when I got there. This year, I easily got a parking spot near by and there were plenty of caramel apples. And fewer people. This is the only part of Fall I like.
